Samuel Danford and Alice (Alse) Bingham lived in Chesterfield, Burlington
County, New Jersey, (Vol. 23 New Jersey Archives.)
Samuel and Alse married on Jan 7, 1704/1705, is from the New Jersey
Archives, Volume 3. This date is probably a mistranscription from the
Monthly Meeting records as follows:
Early Church Records of Burlington County, by Charlotte Meldrum, Quaker
records of Chesterfield Twp, page 44 - "7th day, 1st month (March),
1706. Marriage of Samuel Danford and Alse Bingham accomplished. Alse
Bingham provided a certificate for the Falls Monthly Meeting, Pa. (Bucks
County)". (Note from Donna Ristenbatt: Alse was spelling for Alice.)

Joseph Wright (ca. 1658-1715) b. Chesterfield Twp., Burlington County, New Jersey.
ca. 1685 (son of Joshua Wright and Elisabeth Empson Wright), d. there ca.
1715, will12 mo. (Feb) 3, 1714, inventory 2 mo. (Apr) 8, 1715, probate
10 May 1715. Married 1710 to Mary Scholey, b. 11 mo. (Jan) 6 1681,
daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Parker) Scholey (see the Scholeys of
Schooleys of West New Jersey.) Joseph Wright was liberated 2 mo. (Apr)
6, 1710 by Chesterfield MM to marry Mary Scholey, Chesterfield MM records.
7 mo. (Sept) 9, 1717 Samuel Danford belonging to this meeting and Mary
Wright widow of Joseph Wright declared their intentions of taking each
other in marriage if God permit desiring the consent of Friends.
Thereupon this meeting according to the usual practice do appointour
Friends Joshua Wright and William Wood to see that she as a widow with
children to settle and secure the right of her former Husband's children
before marriage, 8 mo. 3 1717. Appeared the second time Samuel Danford
and Mary Wright and published their intentions of marriage together and
no objecting appearing also Mary's Former Children being orderly taken
care of for they areleft to the Men's Meeting approbation. (Chesterfield
Women's Minutes.) Their second declaration was made 8 mo 5. 1717 to
Chesterfield MM and they were married 9 mo 15, 1717.

5th day, 8th month, 1717. Affairs of the children of Mary Wright and her
former husband are satisfied.
Also on page 47 is the following notation:
6th day, 4th month, 1717. Samuel Danford, the former grave digger,
having been removed, Thomas Folkes was appointed to dig graves.

1745, April 6,Danford, Samuel, of Maidenhead, Hunterdon County, yeoman;
will of. Sons, William, Samuel and James and Samuel's two sons.
Grandaughter Mary Pittman. Son-in-law Richard Pittman, executor, he to
receive "my son Aaron's clothing. Witnesses---William Watson and James
