(It is believed that these were the only Hopkins grandchildren living in Orange County at this time, the others having moved to Bedford County.) The will is proved in Orange County in May 1843.

Due to the high number of casualties, the 55th (McKoin’s) Infantry Regiment is consolidated with the 44th Tennessee Infantry Regiment to form the 44th Consolidated Tennessee Infantry Regiment. It is not known whether Wiley joined the 44th Regiment or returned home to Bedford County.
